The death toll from flooding in the Czech Republic has risen to four, police said on Wednesday.

The body of a 70-year-old woman, who had been missing for days, was found in the municipality of Kobylá nad Vidnavkou.

The location is in the Jeseník district in the north-east of the country.

The region in the Altvater Mountains near the border with Poland was particularly hard hit by the storms. At least seven people are still considered missing in the Czech Republic.

Where the flood waters have receded, the big clean-up begins.

Drinking water and power generators are being distributed. The Defense Ministry said more than 300 troops have been deployed to support civil authorities, including building replacement bridges.

Ostrava Mayor Jan Dohnal said he believes it could take years to remove the damage. In the Czech Republic’s third-largest city, the central railway station, a district heating plant and a sewage treatment plant were flooded.
