The two-storey Modernisation Centre will serve as Crystal’s innovation hub for automated machine development and manufacturing. Following the centre’s opening, the group aims to further modernise all aspects of its production process, including cutting, value-added processes, sewing and finishing, through digital and automated solutions. The centre will also integrate advanced data analytics systems into its operations, underlining the group’s commitment to continuous innovation.
Crystal Group’s Modernisation Centre consists of two main areas, one is a smartLAB where machine development and production, robotic development, as well as bespoke testing and simulations take place. Another area showcases various automated applications and digitalised technologies including machine modifications and improvements, robotic loading and unloading, dust handling and automotive assembly.
The Crystal team plans to expand the Modernization Center so that developments can be tested in a production environment equipped with the latest technologies, thereby accelerating scale-up.
Crystal International, which touts the benefits of automation, says it has reduced the time it takes to make a simple T-shirt by 15% since 2020.
In addition to the technologies demonstrated at the Modernisation Centre, the Group is also implementing digitalisation throughout the production process, such as digitalised printing, automated sewing, automated heat transfer, automated ironing and automated folding. Artificial intelligence is used during inspection, prototyping and sorting processes. All advanced modernisation initiatives help the company to streamline its operations
Building on the success of the modernization center in Vietnam, the team will work closely with several factories to implement and improve process digitalization.
Crystal International says it will continue to harness the power of innovation and automation to become a smarter and more intelligent enterprise globally.
