Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started construction of Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro at Haiderpur Badli Mor in New Delhi, India.

Piling works at Haiderpur Badli Mor have started as part of the first civil contract of Phase 4 for the construction of a section of the Janakpuri West – R. K Ashram Marg Corridor.

The scope of the civil contract includes construction of 10 stations: Keshopur, Paschim Vihar, Peeragarhi, Mangolpuri, West Enclave, Pushpanjali, Deepali Chowk, Madhuban Chowk, Prashant Vihar and North Pitampura.

The 28.9 km long Janakpuri West-R. K Ashram Marg corridor is an extension of the Magenta Line and will have 22 stations.

DMRC said, “The tenders for the remaining stations of this corridor are also nearing completion. Tenders for civil construction have already been floated for the other planned corridors and two other contracts have already been awarded.”

DMRC said the entire corridor is elevated and the work includes partial design and construction of the elevated viaduct, elevated ramp, branch line and station buildings from Keshopur to Haiderpur Badli Mor. The work on the corridor will take 30 months.

Once completed, the corridor will have six interchange stations at Peeragarhi (Green Line), Madhuban Chowk (Red Line), Haiderpur Badli Mor (Yellow Line), Majlis Park (Pink Line), Azadpur (Yellow and Pink Lines) and RK Ashram Marg (Blue Line).

DMRC said that while constructing Haiderpur Badli Mor Metro Station on the Yellow Line as part of Phase 3 of the Delhi Metro, its extension as an interchange point was taken into account. This is expected to reduce the construction time and cost in Phase 4.

The platforms of Haiderpur Badli Mor are built at a height of 23.5 m above the Phase 3 station.

DMRC has received approval for three corridors of Phase 4. Under this, 61,679 km of new metro lines are expected to be constructed in three corridors with a total of 45 metro stations.

The new sections will provide interconnection between the already operational sections of the Delhi Metro.
