SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — People gathered at the JCC in Scranton to remember those lost and hostages still in Israel.

They took the time to commemorate people from our area through photos placed around the room.

In addition to the program, several symbolic items were set up in memory of the hostages from a year ago.

“Tonight we remember and commemorate the hostages. Tonight we stand shoulder to shoulder with the State of Israel, and tonight we comfort and support those who continue to hurt,” said Dan Cardonick, CEO of JCC.

“My cousin Leiter, 39 years old, was killed in Gaza a year ago. He was a beautiful person, he loved peace,” said Scranton resident Ruth Leiter-iIzkowitz.
