The body of a missing boy has been found under the rubble of an apartment building in Kiev that was destroyed by a Russian missile strike, the city’s civil defense department said on Tuesday.

At least 27 people, including four children, were killed and 117 people were injured in devastating Russian airstrikes on Kiev on Monday.

There were also casualties in the Dnipropetrovsk region in the south.

In total, at least 37 people have been killed and 170 injured in the latest attacks in Ukraine.

Tuesday is a day of mourning in Kiev after a rocket hit one of the main children’s hospitals in the Ukrainian capital.

Hundreds of rescue workers and volunteers were still searching for people trapped under the rubble.

Children with cancer who had been saved sat on their mothers’ laps in the street, hooked up to an IV.

Two adults, including a doctor, died in hospital.

Ukraine says the attack was targeted. Video footage shows a cruise missile approaching the building unhindered.

However, the Russian military has claimed that the impact was the result of a Ukrainian surface-to-air missile being misfired, without providing evidence.

Seven people were killed in a large residential building near the hospital, including three children. Two people died in an industrial plant. There were unofficial reports that there had been attacks on an arms company.

Nine people were killed in another partially destroyed hospital and seven people were killed in a business center.

A response is being launched at the Okhmatdyt National Specialized Children’s Hospital, which was attacked by the Russian Kh-101 strategic cruise missile. -/Ukrinform/dpa
