ELMIRA, NY (WHAT) — You may be able to help an Elmira charity if you are willing to part with a Christmas tree growing on your property.

The Arctic League is looking for a Christmas tree for its annual telethon. The tree will grace the stage of Mandeville Hall at the Clemens Center during the charity’s broadcast on Sunday, December 1, and will be decorated with ornaments donated by the former Christmas House store. The person or organization that donated the tree will be recognized during the telethon.

The tree must be between 10 and 12 feet tall and must be located in Chemung County. Those interested in donating a tree that meets the criteria can contact Tom Seem, Arctic League board member, by calling 202-253-3207 or emailing tomseem@gmail. com and provide a description of the tree, the location of the tree and their phone number. .

All tree nominations must be submitted by November 15. The Arctic League Broadcast Committee will review the nominations on November 18, and the selected tree will be cut down and brought to the Clemens Center on November 25.
