Everyone has seen an explosion at a gas station. Hollywood movies or tv shows. But let’s be honest, those scenes are pure fantasy, aided by CGI or pyrotechnics. If you’re wondering what it looks like in real life, a video comes from somewhere in the Middle East, shows that such an event is taking place.

Bear attacks car crash and drags body into woods.

While the entire gas station doesn’t go up in a huge fireball, there are columns of fire that are pretty scary. They’re confined to a portion of the stationwhere the storage tank is located, which fortunately is not exactly where the pumps and all the people are.

After the fire, the ground in that area rises up in a surreal scene. It is just as scary and we can only imagine what would have happened if someone had been walking or driving through that area at the time of the explosion.

As debris falls and dust mixes with smoke, people at the gas stations panic. Some run away on foot. Others quickly get into their cars and start them. One man drives away with the nozzle of the gas pump still in his car, the hose disconnecting as he drives away.

But two cars were simply abandoned at the pump, their owners clearly thinking their lives were worth more than saving their rides. We can’t disagree with that instinct, especially when it comes to some crappy Hyundai.

A quick search on the internet will yield story after story of gas station explosions around the world in recent years. Many of these events resulted in large numbers of casualties, including one in Mexico that killed 91 people.

The fact that this gas station has no deaths or injuries is nothing short of a miracle. But what a terrifying situation to witness with your own eyes.
