A special edition Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport “Soleil de Nuit,” specially created for the Middle East, will go under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s Tegernsee Auction on July 27, 2024. This unique example hypercarwhich debuted at the 2009 Dubai International Motor Show, is expected to fetch between $1.6 million and $2.15 million.
Named after the 1939 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Pierre Veyron, the Veyron stunned the automotive world when it debuted in 2005. With a top speed of over 250 mph and a price tag to match, it quickly became the fastest and most expensive production car. Its 8.0-liter W-16 engine, with quad-turbochargers and air-to-liquid intercoolers, produces an impressive 1,001 horsepower, allowing the Veyron to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds.
The “Soleil de Nuit” edition stands out with its polished aluminum underbody, Black Blue Metallic uppers, and Italian Red under the rear wing. It also features diamond-cut wheels from the ‘Sang Noir’ series and an interior adorned with Burnt Orange leather and “Soleil de Nuit” logos. This unique vehicle was originally owned by the Royal Family of Kuwait and was delivered in February 2010. It has been meticulously maintained, with annual services until 2014. In 2016, the car returned to Molsheim for servicing and new tires before being acquired by a German owner.
The Veyron currently has 11,624 kilometers on the odometer and comes with the original accessory box, speed key, manuals, service book and car cover. It comes with a German Fahrzeugbrief and is subject to VAT on the full purchase price.
