Monforts, BW Converting and Archroma will launch the collaboration in the second half of the year and begin their collaboration to improve productivity and resource use in textile finishing processes.
Monforts will install BW Converting’s Baldwin TexCoat digital spray unit on a stenter frame at the Advanced Technology Center (ATC), headquartered in Mönchengladbach, Germany.
The TexCoat G4 has been described as a revolutionary in traditional water and energy intensive pad-dry-cure finishing processes by precisely applying chemicals such as softeners, antimicrobials and water repellents to the fabric only where needed. This method results in up to 50% lower water, chemical and energy consumption compared to traditional pad application processes.
The partnership says it brings together Monforts’ textile conveying and thermal processing technology, Baldwin’s contactless precision application through TexCoat and Archroma’s specialty chemicals. This combination is expected to deliver superior performance and absorption, surpassing the results of traditional pad applications.
In addition to textile finishing, the three companies want to further develop a versatile offering that includes color concepts, with future plans to expand their collaboration to continuous spray dyeing applications developed by Baldwin.
