Attack near Beirut kills Hezbollah rocket leader

The Israeli military said Tuesday it killed Hezbollah’s rocket chief in a “targeted” strike on a Beirut suburb.

The military said Ibrahim Qubaisi was responsible for rocket attacks on Israel and attacks on civilians. In addition to Qubaisi, other commanders of the rocket unit were also killed, the military said.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, six people were killed and 15 injured in the attack.

Witnesses reported that two floors of a building were destroyed.

Video footage showed large plumes of smoke hanging over the town of Ghobeiry, south of Beirut.
